Now You Know

No, by the grace of God, you will NOT plead ignorance. You will NOT testify that you never knew any better because no one ever taught you anything better. You will not plead that you were never told.

God's Authority Trumps All Others! Save Terri Schiavo.

Powerblog! hosted by Shaun "Powerball" Pierce has an excellent post concerning a Christian's duty vs. the secular authority of this benighted and bedeviled world. [The following has been edited for clarity.]

We talked this week about if it is ever right for a Christian to defy authority. I believe God's law supercedes man's law everytime. We are called to stand up for what we believe is right, even if it goes against authority and law. Marty disagreed. He holds to the passage of scripture that says we must submit to authority. The irony of a reformed protestant saying we should submit to authority was not lost but I digress. . .

. . . So whose authority do we submit to when authority challenges authority? Whatever authority lines up with our Christian beliefs, that's who. If none meet that standard, then we are to respectfully, peacefully and lovingly defy authority and submit to the authority of God.
[Emphasis mine.]

All I can add to that is "AMEN, brother!"

You've been told and NOW YOU KNOW.
